ABSTRACT. The present investigations have revealed the possibility of obtaining, from chrome leather wastes, hydrolyzed collagen of high characteristics, enabling to obtain some environmentally friendly products intended to be used in the agriculture (e.g. as additives for foliar fertilizer matrices used in flower-gardening) and other new applications such as rendering the silicon rubber articles intended for medical and foodstuff use biocompatible etc.

ABSTRACT. Development of new tanning agents is required to get through the increasingly higher environmental pressure on the tanning materials and processes currently in use (tannage with chromium salts).Though some chromium-free processes (and products) were developed in the world, such an issue has not been solved wholly because of feature related to the output and profitability of the new processes and products in spite of the marked environmental drawbacks. This work is aimed at bringing an original contribution to solve such an issue by making use of wastes resulted from nonferrous metals industry, namely the solid titanium wastes (cuttings) unrecyclable in the titanium production.

ABSTRACT. The research and development activities in the area of preservation, conservation, and restoration of the National Library s collections started already in the 1960s. As one of the two leading conservation centers in the Czech Republic — the second one being that in the State Central Archives which, however, specializes in archival materials — the centre in the National Library focuses on restoration and conservation problems of library collections and rare written documents, i.e. the type of materials belonging to the library’s care sphere.

ABSTRACT. In the context of the accession of Romania to the European Union, the economic operators have to meet increasingly higher requirements with the view of integration into The European Single Market. At the organizational level, implementation tendency has been extended in the last period of time from the quality management systems to the implementation and certification of the management integrated systems: quality, environment, health and occupational safety. Implementation of such systems assumes a number of advantages.

KEY WORDS: quality management system, quality, environment, health and occupational safety
