Determination of Leather Formic Aldehyde as Requirement of Eco-label

ABSTRACT. The method of determination the leather formic aldehyde offers some data of formic aldehyde content, which allow enclosing the semi products into the class of “ecological leathers”. The method is reproducible, and the uncertainty is on the established limits; it could be applied in any laboratory which has a high performance spectrophotometer. The elaborated method is according to the Government Decision nr 254/2004 looking at the determination of criteria of granting ecological labels for footwear articles.
