Research and Innovation Assisting the SMEs in Leather and Footwear Industry

  ABSTRACT. This work presents an overview of the programmers in National Research, Development & Innovation Plan drawn up in accordance with the sector policy and Govern Programmed priorities on supporting the SMEs development. The above programmers were drawn up taking into account the following major objects: - economy modernization and refreshing; - consolidation of new economy constituents based on the knowledge; - stimulating the Romanian scientific and technologic community integration into the European Community; - investigations intended to support the overall progress in scientific and technical knowledge.

Possibilities for Application of IPPC European Concept (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) in Leather Industry

  ABSTRACT. European integration means a fundamental change in technological and economical strategies of leather companies in order to have a European common future. Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) concept belongs to sustainable developments strategy of European Community which aims to establish the best avaible technique (BAT) for hide and skin processing, which is economically and ecologically accepted and to promote world-wide dissemination of theses techniques. The paper presents the main benefits and the limits of an application of a new liming process. The main conclusion of our researcher works emphasize the necessity of implementation of continuous innovation and new techniques in hisses processing in order to comply with European trends and requirements.
